Student Internship Success
As last year, all students were paid throughout the internships with some lasting as long as six weeks!
The boys were very supportive of each other in listening to and commenting on each other’s presentations. There were also some awkward questions which were fielded well!
The internships were completed in various companies ranging from Eddie Stobarts, Peel Ports through to Lloyds’ Bank and JPS supply chain Ltd.
We received some very complimentary feedback from employers about our students and are now busy forging existing and forming new links for this year’s students.
If there are any parents who have contacts in Businesses who would be prepared to work with us on our Career Ready programme, please contact Ms Forrest ( Assistant Headteacher).
Below are some of the comments made by the students, along with photographs of the students in their work placements :
“I enjoyed learning about networking and creating new relationships with clients!
“This has opened my eyes to the wide variety of law sectors. This has opened my eyes to the wide variety of law that exists and has made me reconsider which law sector to pursue. I hadn’t thought of Law in Logistics!”
“It helped me understand the world of work and how to effectively create relationships with clients.”
“It has helped to give me more confidence when interacting with new people. It has also made me more independent as I was often given a task to do on my own, where I couldn’t rely on a teacher, as I could do in school.”
“It helped me to read more……one and a half hours on public transport!!!”
